Yes, message is top priority when creating a quality video. Your message needs to be clear and compelling. Your next step is figuring out how to best tell or show your message. In some cases, it's not practical to use only live video. Maybe filming certain video clips will be too costly. That's when you may consider doing animation videos, or at least using graphical animation mixed with your live video. Let's talk through some of your options.
Part Live, Part Animation
Creative graphical elements can enhance your video and better keep your viewers attention. This is especially true when your message is more technical or the video footage is very simple (like someone just talking to a camera). You'll see graphics used in educational videos often.
Take a look at this video we created for Tom Stone at Guild Mortgage. Tom wanted to express a value formula for using the Guild team to get your home mortgage. By creating some simple icons and animating those throughout the video, it made for a better flow and clearer understanding with his audience.
Full Graphical Animation
There can be times where the cost to film live footage of your message is too complicated or expensive. Maybe you're concerned about who should be filmed speaking your message? Should you get a spokesperson? What should they look like? How much will they charge? Can I use them ongoing? There's a lot of decisions and commitments.
Another reason is the time and effort to film all that you need will be too costly. Perhaps to gather all the clips would take a lot of time or a lot of people involved..
These are just two reasons why businesses will use graphical animation as a way to create their videos. Our process for building your graphical animation is simple.
- Voiceover: Hire the right person to speak your message.
- Design: Work with our designers to storyboard the graphics that will be used in each scene.
- Animation: Animate the graphical elements to fit the music, voice over and pace of the video.
Voiceover
The process for hiring a voiceover is more accessible than it ever before. We can quickly narrow down your options by gender, age, accent, and more. Once your script is polished and clearly states your message, we send it to the voiceover talent to record. This is the first stage where you can see your video coming together.
Design
Most people want to quickly see what their video will look like. That's why the design phase is so important. We typically start by creating a few scenes according to your selected style. That way we can quickly see whether we're on the same page. Making changes in the direction and style here are much easier than toward the end of this process. Once we're done you'll see all your scenes designed and have a good idea of what your video will look like.
Animation
Once all the scenes are designed and approved, we move onto animating. This is where one of our animators will take the design elements and animate them to the music and voiceover bringing it all together.
Usually to start we'll animate the first portion according to the style we've selected. Again, it's best to have this check-in to make sure we're on the same page and that your getting the style of video you expect.
Examples
The InCash app is a slick way to be rewarded while shopping in brick and mortar stores. They needed a simple video to explain their application to potential investors. That's where we came in. We created the graphical structure and animation according to the client's script.
Another great example of graphical animation videos that gave the client a custom look and feel is with Quick Recovery Funding. We created customized graphics that fit their look and feel. We were able to take this style and implement it in seven other videos.
BestNotes is a EHR software for mental health and addiction recovery industries. They needed a video while they were making some major changes to their software and weren't ready to showcase it yet. Here's the video we custom made for them.
