We have found that most businesses benefit from having specific videos to guide customers through the buying journey. For example, companies relying on sales consultations can use pre-call videos to further warm leads and prepare them for the call. Similarly, post-purchase follow-up videos help maintain excitement and loyalty for the new customer. The optimal video strategy depends on the unique customer journey.<\/p>\n

In this training, I will cover script ideas you can adapt for key videos. Specifically, I will share pre-call and post-purchase video examples to consider. You should also review the earlier customer journey training in this section. Understanding the touchpoints for your business model allows you to determine what videos to create for maximum impact at each phase – awareness, engagement, action and such. Map relevant videos to your workflow to attract, convert, and retain more customers over time through strategic visual storytelling across the entire process.<\/p>\n

Pre-Call Video<\/h3>\n

The goal of the pre-call video is to prepare the potential customer and build excitement for the upcoming consultation. A key benefit to highlight is that you respect their time and aim to make the call as productive and effective as possible. Here are some recommended elements to include:<\/p>\n

Introduction<\/h4>\n

Take a few seconds to review the company\u2019s main value in the marketplace and their mission. For instance, start with ‘Here at [Company], we revolutionize the way you [main value]. You want to build some familiarity and credibility. If you can introduce the specific person or people that will be on the call.<\/p>\n

Agenda<\/h4>\n

Walk through briefly what will be covered on the call so they can be prepared and know what to expect.<\/p>\n

Product Highlights<\/h4>\n

Review the key value your product or service or brand provides. You want to get them thinking about their pain and what the problem they\u2019re hoping to solve<\/p>\n

Examples<\/h4>\n

I think it\u2019s really help to highlight case study examples. Walking through one can not only help prove the value you offer but also answer key questions about what to expect.<\/p>\n

Urgency<\/h4>\n

If there’s a time-sensitive offer involved, here’s where you gently remind them. For instance, \u201cDon’t forget, this special offer is only available until [date].\u201d<\/p>\n

Homework<\/h4>\n

Is there anything that they should do to come to the call ready? This could include filling out questionnaire, or documents they need to bring to the call or things like that.<\/p>\n

Excitement<\/h4>\n

Ending the video with excitement and enthusiasm for your upcoming call will get them excited as well. I also recommend being grateful for them setting aside time for the call as well.<\/p>\n

Post-Purchase Video<\/h3>\n

The primary goal of a post-purchase follow-up video is to encourage customer retention and loyalty by fostering an ongoing relationship. Especially with complex products or services, you want to prevent buyer’s remorse and set clear expectations around next steps – this ensures smooth onboarding, implementation, and utilization. Here are some recommended elements to script:<\/p>\n

Appreciation<\/h4>\n

Show appreciation for them selecting and putting their trust in your product or brand. Start with a heartfelt message like, \u201cThank you for embarking on this journey with us. Here’s what exciting next steps await you…”<\/p>\n

Reinforce<\/h4>\n

Remind them of the value of what they purchased and what problem it will solve or how it will make their life better.<\/p>\n

Expectations<\/h4>\n

Reduce uncertainty by telling them what to expect next and when. What will the process look like and how will they be communicated with? This is a good place to introduce them to a project manager or brand rep who will lead them through their journey or show them where they\u2019ll go to get further training and information. Tell them how they should best get customer service if they need answers to their questions.<\/p>\n

Example<\/h4>\n

You want to further proof your brand by explaining a case study or testimonial of a customer\u2019s experience. This is a chance to further build credibility.<\/p>\n

Urgency<\/h4>\n

Again if you’re offering some kind of special offer or upgrade, remind them of the urgent timeline they need to act on.<\/p>\n

Feedback<\/h4>\n

Encourage feedback by saying, \u201cYour thoughts are invaluable to us. Could you share your initial impressions or any questions you might have?”<\/p>\n
