Facebook and Youtube both have auto-generating subtitles or close captions. This means that their system will determine what is being said in the video and most often they let you change or adjust the text if they get it wrong. <\/p>\n
This can be the best route to go because it uses a native platform which will help their algorithm. The hope is that it will help the video perform better because you’re giving more information to the system. Plus it’s free.<\/p>\n
We can use a tool we have to pull SRT text files and send to the client. This can be useful for a client because they don’t own a tool that will do this and it’s an extra challenge for them. We would run the software and correct any errors in the text. <\/p>\n
This would require additional cost for the time to pull the file.<\/p>\n
Recently Adobe has added a feature that will generate subtitles and then let you design them where ever in the video. I call this “baking” them into the video. They’ll always be there. They can’t be turned off. The nice thing is they can be designed to fit branding and you can choose to have certain text included or not. So for example, one statement that’s spoken by the person appears next to their head. That wouldn’t make sense to duplicate that in the subtitles.<\/p>\n
