In this lesson you’ll learn how to fully complete a project and move files to archive. The goal is to move files off of our active radar and hold onto those files for an appropriate timeframe as a resource to the client as well as be able to pull files to help build new materials.

Dropbox We provide clients 2 weeks to download final files off of Dropbox. It’s best to communicate with the client to confirm that they’ve downloaded files.

Private Server Files will then be moved to a private server which we can still provide online access to if needed. These files are stored for 1 year (technically we’ll keep 2-3 years) before we move to a long-term storage option (not online).

You’ll be able to remote into our server computer and be able to access the QNAP attached storage as well as move files from Dropbox to the server.

Every couple of weeks review active projects and search for ones ready to be moved to archive.

We have client files that are not specific to a project. These are files like logos, style guides, and clip libraries that are stored in the Client Library. Then there are script and other documents stored on Google Drive. When we know that a client is doing a one-time project with us or is no longer going to be active with us, then we need to archive these folders as well.

Archiving On Server Computer
